If you get bored drinking by the pool or soaking in the jacuzzi, here's other things you might want to do. The hotel concierge was able to call and get us half-off posted prices when we did the canopy tour+ATV through Canopy River, so don't hesitate to solicit their help.

(golf courses and the marinas are located closer to the airport, which is 20+ minutes away from our hotel)

The boardwalk here is called the "Malecon" and it's filled with restaurants, clubs, bars, street performers, etc. The weekend of our wedding is actually a Mexican National Holiday, so I'm sure there's going to be lots of things to do. But this also means that there may also be lots of traffic, so plan your time accordingly.
There's also a lot of clubs/shopping/etc located closer to the airport. You will probably notice them when you drive in. They are about 20 minutes from the hotel.
